Castrol has a new synthetic out that they claim has 8x better wear protection than Mobil1. I've always used Mobil1 in the past though.
Castrol Edge |
^^ I voted for that, but i usually use Castrol Syntec

That's a big unnecessary waste of money, time&effort! Especially the money! That's over 720 dollars for one car per year, in oil! The oil us not dirty(unless your tracking). The proprieties haven't had a chance too work. |

I've only used Amsoil in my cars. I've used both their 5W-30 oil and their manual transmission fluid (in my Civic). The Lexus gets serviced at the dealership, so I can't comment on what they use haha. |

If anyone is running synthetic, there's no reason to change it before 4 to 5K miles (unless you do some SERIOUS tracking) |
AMSOil or Redline.

Mobil 1 here.

That Castrol Edge website is retarded... But aside from that, I'd try it after the break-in period.

I change oil every 6000 miles and rotate tires and replace air filters at the same time. Its easy to keep track of what needs to be done that way. Sorry for the mix up. |
6000? I change my oil every 3,000... I drive my cars aggressively all the time though...
|
6000 miles?! Holy hell man... 3000 should be the max.
