The car will be turned into a non-daily but street driven but mostly a track car. roughly 450hp when I am done. I might even run up too 500 hp for short runs.

Doesn't JWT just have a high clamping force organic clutch?

For track I would go with the OS Giken.

Both wouldn't disappoint and it's maybe even more a personal choice.

The Exedy will be a little bit more street-able, but if you drive by slipping the clutch a lot (heavy traffic) carbon will burn up quicker.

have you looked at the ACT clutches? alot of Formula D drivers use them, usually put up with repeated abuse/clutch kicks at drift events and keep going, i'm a big fan of theirs.

Yeah it's organic but it's an exedy clutch disc. it's nice and streetable and it holds gobs of power so what the hell are you guys doing that you need a carbon or ceramic clutch? do you guys all have 500hp twin turbo's and i missed that or....?

the OS Giken should be good for 500whp, I wouldn't worry too much about how fast the clutch plates wear out, it's relatively inexpensive to get the plates replaced. You don't need to buy a whole new assembly just new plates. Carbon clutches are going to cost more initially and for replacement plates.

^^ correct, but it's the labor inolved as well. Either way, both will definitely hold the power that you're looking for. As someone said earlier, if you plan on streeting the car, go with the exedy. Otherwise go with the OS Giken. I've personally run both (on my old SR20 S14) and I like the Exedy.

just a warning, if you look at JWT, I'm sure it'll hold but you will get a lot of clatter and I don't know if you can get replacement disks.

I've used both Exedy and OS Giken in other cars (my Z is still stock). You can't go wrong with either. The ceramic should be very streetable, as well as the carbon. Carbon will not last as long on the street as ceramic.

Are the discs sprung or unsprung? If you plan on 50% street duty, I would opt for the sprung discs if available, much less 'grabby' during mild stop light starts.

50% street, not sure which route of forced induction yet but it will happen in the near future. I just will run the car really hard at the track at 400 to 450 hp and when I feel like it maybe jump boost and be a sleeper at the drags for some good laughs. I just want something that i wont be worrying about in the back of my mind while I am driving. I do not have any previous experience with clutches in cars, just trucks and tons of motorcycles. They are roughly the same price. Good question on sprung or unsprung not sure. will look into it.Thanks for all the post and recommendations

i don't like organic because of how short you can heat them up and glaze them over from hard use. just my only experience. that is why ceramic or carbon
