Ok, I know this thread was dead a long time ago but I wanted to know if any company ever developed stiffer transmission mounts?
In the BMW M3 community they have whats called "the money shift" basically you shift into the wrong gear due to the transmission torquing and the gear not being where it was if you werent hard on the gas, then your engine is destroyed. So in my BMW I got the UUC Eurethane transmission mounts with aluminum cup reinforcers (see picture)and after that never ever miss shifted becasues the gear positions remain 100% in the same position in relation to the chassis. In the case of my BMW I would rank it very high as a good functional mod, would probably be the same for the 370z With the 370z I am still getting used to it but finding myself almost going into the wrong gear sometimes. I also noticed the transmission moves all over the place under acceleration and deceleration which is crap that can cause shift issues. Does anyone make something like this for the 370z? If so I will buy them today, maybe I can talk UUC into making Jap car parts. EDIT, ok google searching I found out that "Drop Engineering" makes urethane engine and transmission mounts for the 370z |
I think Kamispeed made them, however I remember when this product first underwent testing with a different manufacturer and they reported that a stiffer mount, while improve shift feel caused an excessive amount of vibration in the shifter.
