I ran E85 straight for 2 years without any additives or regular pump gas. The car developed a misfire that would occasionally show up but not cause any noticeable performance

I ran E85 straight for 2 years without any additives or regular pump gas. The car developed a misfire that would occasionally show up but not cause any noticeable performance issues.
When I went to change my valve cover gaskets, I got a chance to inspect the intake valves and they were all gummed up. I've since started to run pump gas every few tanks of e85.
