E85 and fuel treatments

I ran E85 straight for 2 years without any additives or regular pump gas. The car developed a misfire that would occasionally show up but not cause any noticeable performance

I ran E85 straight for 2 years without any additives or regular pump gas. The car developed a misfire that would occasionally show up but not cause any noticeable performance issues.

When I went to change my valve cover gaskets, I got a chance to inspect the intake valves and they were all gummed up. I've since started to run pump gas every few tanks of e85.

Looks like some kind of oil substance.

Yup, you have to run a good set of catch cans with E85. That looks like oil.

100%!! That's beyond an E85 problem as it typically cleans everything in the engine and thus looks new!
