Default Engine issues/ poss bent rod?

So just looking if anyone knows if I should be able to turn the engine by hand continuously. I don’t know if I have possible bent rod or other issues. Had a possible fuel hydro lock from over revving caused by vacuum leak. There was fuel in the oil so dumped that and it is all dried out. Got new spark plugs and put it all back together. When I went to start it I heard a loud knock and shut it off. I did not wait for it to either work itself or something worse happening. I was hoping to try to determine if it was a major issue or not without turning it on and risk making it worse. Took out the spark plugs and the crank pulley turns easily with breaker bar but then gets stuck. Did not know if I should pull hard and try to get it past that point or if it is normal to stop after a few turns. Or any suggestions on determining a bent rod without breaking down the whole engine. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

It should turn freely and without restriction if the plugs are out of it.
I won't venture to guess what your obstruction is, as there are too many possibilities. Bent/broken rod, bent/broken valve, etc. All of it bad news.

Try turning the crank pulley to the stuck point and do a back and forth and try to locate the sound. Try to identify if it comes from the valvetrain or the bottom of the engine.
