don't count it out just yet. It's supposed to get better with time.

You are all welcome and thanks to everyone who gave me rep, I appreciate it.

ok i think i'm going to go delrin now that should be friggen stiff might get it rollcoated in some urethane or rubber at work to provide a little bit of dampening. would you say it was ripples in a cup of water in the cup holder vibrationy or water shooting out the cup bad, should be an easy test for comparisonor just a bottle of water half full maybe a video to showcase.

Sorry for my limited English, What does this thing do exactly ??

After reading RCZ's write up....looks like it would serve as a good vibrator for the lady friends. :roflpuke2:

Besides that though...its intended to make shifting less spongy feeling. More precise shifts…

WShade 03-09-2010 07:59 PM

Talking about vibration, this is nothing. I had solid mounts in my Mazda and eventually got use to it.

1slow370 03-10-2010 04:05 AM

well i probably won't be up during the day as i am a night lord 2nd shifter. i realize there might be some problems with said test as driving the car itself would make the water go nuts. would be an indication maybe revving it in neutral and sound on the vid for how loud it got.

RCZ 03-10-2010 11:33 AM

Yeah, I'll get something for you guys. It has quieted down a bit though...just a bit.

RCZ 03-10-2010 03:10 PM

I am a man of my word, here's a quick video of the car at idle and revving with the glass of water.

Turn your speakers up, its an iphone video so its not exactly HD, but it gets the point across. That clanking you hear is me putting the clutch in and out in neutral. You can hear the tranny winding up when I let the clutch out. Revving you can hear how much sound is transmitted into the car.

I have to say thought, NVH has decreased a lot since the install. I will take another video for you folks in about a week or so. At this point it's still not daily drivable for me.

i'd rep for the follow up but the board won't let me someone else rep him for me.

schrute 03-11-2010 03:02 AM

^done.

RCZ 03-11-2010 08:59 PM

Thanks guys.

1slow370 03-12-2010 02:11 AM

just don't do that "rep you back" crap i saw some other people doing that just pisses me off. you put in effort for the community u deserve rep and it was a good review too.

RCZ 03-12-2010 08:23 AM

Not sure what the "rep you back" system is? Yeah there are folks in here who have a million rep points and rarely post anything but garbage, I'm assuming that's related.

370Zsteve 03-12-2010 08:33 AM

OK - let the poor guy put some mileage on the vehicle so the mod settles in, enough with the water!

in for updates!

1slow370 03-12-2010 12:07 PM

Holy crap! You are pissing about Simota saying to Fusz that he'll rep him back for complimenting his roof overlay?

Big deal.

1slow370 03-15-2010 01:54 AM

it's just an example there are far worse rep infractions occuring than that i just searched for rep u back and thats what popped up chill repping some for repping you is stupid plain and simple

RCZ 03-15-2010 09:04 AM

Agreed and no one can say otherwise, its stupid and ruins the system. Its OK We know who the folks who don't count are.

Mount: Getting less and less rowdy as the days go by, but I'm still not happy with the amount of noise.

Well this sucks, the mount not the rep thing.
I wonder if any other upgrades along the transmission will help the noise level.

m4a1mustang 03-15-2010 09:18 AM

Short of using some Second Skin insulation products I doubt there's anything you can do with the noise.

RCZ 03-15-2010 11:50 AM

Yeah, I think the same results can be achieved with a more forgiving mount. I will pass my findings on to Z1. Hopefully they are following this thread though.

In all honesty, I think some shifter bushings would do the trick nicely.

puckshaw 03-15-2010 01:47 PM

How many miles have you put on the mount so far?

RCZ 03-15-2010 04:16 PM

over 200 easy.

Z1Performance 04-05-2010 11:12 AM

so now that the mount is presumably with someone else, can that person please pm me an update?

thanks

RCZ 04-05-2010 03:45 PM

Nope, PM sent. :)
