My heads are off a 2010 MY so not sure what yours are - or even if they are affected.

Better to know and check now, vs later.
My heads are from 2017 and even though it didn’t touch it was too close for my comfort. I did some grinding on both heads for better clearances. One side was very close to spark plugs tubes and other seemed like it was very close to the actual edge of the head casting so girded that as well. Thanks for the heads up though.

So it looks like tomorrow is the day for first start up. Excited but slightly nervous. Got my radium surge tank installed, got the base tune for 100octane. Tried to build some oil pressure by cranking the starter but nothing. Tomorrow I will pressure fill oil through the pressure switch to aid priming of oil pump and fill oil passages.

She is running! Start it right up. Let it run to operating temperature for 15mins with blipping throttle. Runs great. Drained oil, replaced filter, put it all back together and as soon I was gonna go for it’s first ride I slightly touched coolant reservoir and it fell in.

Replaced the reservoir. Local autozone had it. Actually oem Nissan part. Drove it 15 miles and runs good! No leaks, no overheating. Boundary oil pump definitely upped the pressure. Dyno tune scheduled for 7th of July .

So drive over 125 miles total so far and encountered small issues. After installing radium surge tank I can’t get the fuel level gauge to read properly. Since I always had funky fuel level readings I decided just to order new sensors but still nothing. It shows no fuel in the tank. I have to go back in there and do ohm readings and see what’s wrong. Another issue I have which I didn’t notice until I decided to drive the car, shut it off and then restart when hot. I would usually take the car out of the garage, drive it for 20miles and then park it back and recheck. Never restarted it right after. Few days ago I took it out then drove it for 10mins and shut it off. 5 mines later slow crank(did have weak battery) but even with a jumper it had real hard time starting. At 3rd or 4 th try I decided to give some gas and it fired up. It happens every time when I try to start it right after driving when it’s hot. Cold start are very much normal. Replaced the battery with new antigravity which was on my list anyways. Tested it again for hot start, same thing, slower crank and no start until added the throttle then starts. Decided to change the starter thinking when heat soaked could be causing hard starting. Fast forward, with new starter the hot start issues continue but this time the engine turns much faster with new starter so I think it was on its way out anyways. Since I’m running only base tune, my diagnosis it must be the tune, running very rich causing hard start. At least that’s what I’m hoping it is.

Fuel level fixed. Turned out the pins turned inside the surge tank when in tightened the top part and were touching. Readjusted and all good.

So dyno session went pretty well. Switched to ecutek and upped the limiter to 7800 RPM. It was about 98F out and was down 3lbs of boost due to ati pulley. Was bummed out a little bit on lower power but my butt dyno proved me wrong. The car drives and feels like never before. Torque comes on very quick and lively. First Track day and a shake down on Monday at NJMP.

Track shakedown completed. Ended up running 3 sessions before ran into a small issue that ended my day. Goal was too take it easy and increase the speed with each session as long every thing checks out. First 2 session 50% throttle and 5k rpms but still felt quick. After 2 sessions I was getting little more comfortable so went ahead and drove little more aggressive the next session reving it close to 5500 close to 6k rpms. It felt really good and was hoping to basically go all out by the end of the day. Unfortunately my supercharger oil line was touching the exhaust manifold and ended up melting the line and leaked all the oil out. Thankfully it happened right after I parked the par in the pits so no fluid loss at the track. Overall pretty happy with how little issues I came across. I am pretty confident that the next track event the car will be ready and go all out.
