Default Replacing MY 2010 engine with MY 2018 What's Different.

So, before I get the obligatory, "do a search, its been answered a thousand times" response. I have searched several times in several places. So, while I think it is probably a simple answer, I cannot find it. I must be wording my searches wrong.

I have noticed when looking at VHR engines for replacement. The ads are alway very specific in what year they are for. Some say 09-12 some 12-15 or 15- 19.

I am under the impression that the only change since the 09 is that the 15 and newer has a slightly different set of heads and exhaust manifolds. Not sure that would require any changes besides tune.

Naturally it is easier to find very low mileage engines of an 18 than an 09. If I bought an MY18 engine to install in my MY10 7AT car. What would be different or need to be changed? Are the, plumbing, harnesses or equipment different. or just the tune? And, do you know why theyare not sold as interchangeable?

Thanks
Jim

Nothing is different, O2 sensors are the only thing not swappable if using a newer harness.
