Default Anyone have a flywheel installed

Coming from my 03 g35 with the vq35de i feel as if our motor revs much slower and decels much slower as well.. I would imagine a flywheel would do this car a lot of good. I searched but didnt really find anything on this topic..

thanks!

You mean a lightweight flywheel? KillerBee370 has the JWT flywheel installed. You could PM him.

We've installed JWT and SPEC flywheels and clutches. The JWT was Segmented Aluminum flywheel and the SPEC was a one piece steel. The SPEC was quieter.

Nonetheless, both produce chatter - but IMO, its not that bad.

At least it is not as bad as the 350z chatter.

BTW, very nice improvement in the overall feeling of the car. Smooth fast revviing.

PM if you have any specific questions. I've got them in stock.

I have the JWT lightweight flywheel installed. While at idle it does produce some chatter and it's obvious enough that people have commented on it while standing next to the car. I don't find it to be obtrusive or bothersome though some might. But my car is more purpose built.

A lightweight flywheel robs less power from the engine, as an engine accelerates through its rev range; a flywheel’s mass requires power to accelerate it to higher rpm. The stock flywheel weighs 32 lbs. My JWT flywheel is 16 lbs. A sizeable weight drop. It takes a bit more clutch slippage to get off the line smoothly but it's really not a substantial change.

The JWT flywheel coupled with the JWT clutch and pressure plate yielded a gain of 6whp and 4ft. lbs. of torque on the dyno in my car.
