On the 350 it was on the engine / transmission connection, towards the bottom, sensor and plug; if i recalls correctly after breaking it with my jack....

So dumb question, in order to get to it, do I have to go under the car or is it on top just under the hood? I think I found it on top and simple to get to but the new one is being a pain to get in place. I see there’s a similar looking one on the driver side also. Another thread is saying both the camshaft and crankshaft are on top. One on the driver side and the other on the passenger side. Anyone know which is which?

There is one crankshaft sensor, I believe it is on the passenger side near the top of the bell housing.

Look at a parts catalog and you will see its placement, or you could also take a look in the factory service manual if you are still not finding it.

There are exploded diagrams on Courtesy Parts' web site and in the FSM (link in sig).
