Pull the crank main and rod caps and inspect the bearings for damage. Pull the valve covers and inspect valvetrain for damage. If either of these areas shows above normal

Pull the crank main and rod caps and inspect the bearings for damage. Pull the valve covers and inspect valvetrain for damage. If either of these areas shows above normal wear and tear, you're probably boned. Might be a good idea to have a mechanic do an inspection.
