It's not the hp, it's the torque. The old rule of thumb was that the clutch packs in 5/6/7 weren't able to handle over 400 foot pounds at the wheels.

It's not the hp, it's the torque. The old rule of thumb was that the clutch packs in 5/6/7 weren't able to handle over 400 foot pounds at the wheels. There haven't been a lot of people who have reported blowing them up, but I couldn't tell you whether that's because not a lot of people boost the 7AT, those that do blow them up don't post about it, or they don't blow up.
