Default Hill Assist?

I read in some places that there's hill assist built into the MT models. Is this true or some sort of fairy tale? I have a driveway with a huge incline and never felt this kick into action.

Here's someone actually demoing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AJqMhB3MJE

I never was able to duplicate it.

When I have a tricky incline to deal with and i don't want to crunch the bumpers, I use the hand brake.

The Z has too much electronic interference with driving as it is. Why would you need this? Use the e-brake if you have to, but practice with your feet is good too

This is an excellent pro-tip for those who have troubles with hills.

In regards to the video, he's probably using his other hand off camera to use the hand brake.

Hand brake = hill assist. I had hill assist in my civic. There was no defeat so it was always on and a pita because there was always a lag when you started to move forward or backward.

Another useful thing you can do is hold the clutch in position right before it's at the engagement point as you're stopped on a hill..

This way, when ready to move pop it in gear and start giving some gas and the clutch should already be starting to hook as soon as you start letting off, so you wont roll back at all.

It just takes a bit of practice with your feet, best way is just keep driving n keep trying.

I usually roll backwards to troll people who are too close to me at the light. It scares the **** out of them.
