Jim Wolf Cam testing for the VQ37VHR -- Results inside!

Update. IPP is backing their work as I hoped they would and has offered to remedy the issue by paying for a local shop to do the relash.

So... all good. A bummer to have to jump through hoops but stuff happens and they are making it right so I say all good.

I’ll post new Dynos when I get them.

BTW some shops cannot reassemble the head of you take apart the VVEL system. Some can. Nissan japan can and I have spoken to one shop (maybe the only one) in the US that can but most shops can’t so BE CAREFUL before you disassemble a went-boom head for shipping as a core. PM me if you need more info about this.

Or you can just send it to MaMotorsports who came out with the product

SurfDog 12-19-2017 01:00 PM

It’s already mounted up on my motor and installed. Dropping the motor taking I all apart and shipping is a worse option.

Oh you mean in general? Yeah, that is an option.

The guys at MA have been very helpful as I go through this project.

Yup pre-corrected. You dream crusher you!! So let me down my crank estimate to 400 ish? %20 drive loss makes it 402.

Yeah, it’s almost impossible to get beyond ~330-340rwhp NA on the VQ. If you spend tremendous amounts of money and run exotic fuels, you might pick up another 10-15hp, but that hardly seems worth it. If you’re chasing HP, a Z06 or ZR1 is a good way to do it (speaking from experience)!

You have a strong forged motor with upgraded oil and fueling. Ought to be just about bomb proof on the track! :driving:

Has a Z w/Headers,free flowing exhaust,CAI & this cam been Dyno’d on a Dynojet?
By the hp claim on this 2nd grind; should put down 350-360whp easily.

I can see 350 tuned for good fuel (101OCT, E85). My car had all that, the V1 cams, and increased compression and was making 335hp tuned for 91OCT.

theDreamer 12-21-2017 08:17 AM

The record is 371whp on e85: http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...vhr-build.html

I've got to do some repairs and I'll take the original customer test car to Z1 in the next few weeks. Work and a wedding has kept me too busy lately to get any wrench time in.

Has any one gotten a dyno of just the gains of the C2 cams yet?

Whjaxn17 05-02-2018 09:13 AM

Bump for updates? Anybody else had a chance to dyno these?

The guys at Z1 mentioned having a set of the C2 cams to install for a guy, but they were waiting on his FI exhaust to come in and that they would be done together. I was told that numbers would be posted, but that was the better part of 3 months ago and I haven't seen anything yet.
