90w or 85w

If it's the clutch making the noise, I don't see how tranny fluid is going to make any difference. What am I missing?

Hmm, you're probably not missing anything. I've just heard from a couple of people that had an aftermarket setup that heaving oil could mitigate the sound. I don't know if it's just sound dampening or what, but I'm as unsure as you are.
