Default Getting new transmission for 2014 Nismo 370z

Hey guys,

I took my car in to Nissan this past weekend to get 5th gear looked at. It would occasionally scratch going into 5th from 4th. Nissan will be replacing the transmission. Just have a few questions:

- Do the transmissions usually come pre-filled with gear oil? If so, is it a special type of break-in oil or is it the regular Nissan 75-85w oil?

- I don't know how involved or how much extra work is involved with the SRM mechanism. I recall reading that there are sensors for each gear that can be adjusted. I just hope the dealer knows this. I don't think they do too many SRM transmission replacements.

- Any harm running Redline MT 75-85 gear oil after a thousand miles or so? Or should I wait till the transmission is fully broken in?

Appreciate the feedback.

Transmission oil should be included as part of the transmission replacement. If the Nissan dealer is doing the work, they will put Nissan fluid in it. There is no special break-in oil required.

The installer shouldn't have to screw with SRM. The factory should have all those sensors good to go for you.

Redline MT-85 is the stuff you want for the 6MT. You can run it any time.

I guess what I meant to ask was, do the transmissions come from the factory pre-filled, or are they filled at the dealer? Not whether or not the fluid is included

Normally filled by dealer, if they are laid back ask them if they will put in Redline if you provide it. If not, just bring it home and change it, no breaking in of a transmission is needed.

Thanks!

Dealer will be putting in the oem gear oil, but I'm shortly after heading to my tuner shop and having them drain it and put in some Redline MT-85. Tranny still has not been installed yet and I'll probably get it back either late tomorrow or Monday/Tuesday. How long is this job? 3 hours?
