They tend to have to trade under-cooling for over-cooling, hence the various block-off plate add-ons. Over-cooling is harder on a DD than under-cooling, if nothing else because the engine will spare itself via "limp mode" as temps climb into the iffy range. However, for a guy in Bahrain, or any region regularly seeing 100+ f ambient temps, an oil cooler is definitely worthwhile.
