Price for Installing

Was wondering how much people paid shops to have there Gen 3 installed. I know a lot of members say to just DIY, but I don't want to risk anything

Its a 2-3 hour job for the shops most likely and at a standard rate of like 100-120 an hour. It will be near 300 if not over

I see... I guess what the shop is charging me isn't too bad. Before I was quoted at $220, but he said he would call back and let me know what the previous person was charged and just match it up lol

It literally takes a hour and change if that. Get a dremel and Jack stand and tools, save yourself a couple hundred bucks

Agreed. It's a no brainer. And a lot of shops will forget to wrap the AC lines and you'll end up with problems down the line. Man up, grab some tools and do it yourself. That way you know it's done right.

If you don't protect the AC lines, the Stillen will rub a hole in them and let out all your refrigerant.

If you haven't heard of it, you need to.

And I bet 99% of shops miss this step

I'm getting it done at Dynosty.
They said it would take about 3 hours -_-;;;
I told them the majority of the members on the forum took less than 2 hours.
They said that they have make sure the holes are drilled perfectly and that the A/C lines are taken care of so it doesn't rub against the part.
So they know what there doing but its just a little pricey.

Pay the price if you're too lazy to put in work.

They're putting a cloud of smoke up your bass. They quote you that so they can make money or that shop doesn't have experience doing that install

DIY. Once you finish, you will slap yourself for ever considering having a shop do it. I've installed intakes on three of my cars in the past, and it's well documented that I'm a dumbass when it comes to mechanical ability.
