I do wish the 370 had a digital speedo, the rear wiper isnt really missed, and the shift light is a great addition the 7AT.

++UPDATE: the shifting has improved, wont know if it fixed my issue until it stops rapture raining over here

that's weird if it was a fluid change that fixes it. that fluid is rated to be about 100k miles lol

The thing is Ive read a few guys having less than the correct fill amount from the factory! And People have changed it out way earlier and thier fluid bieng dark, almost black. Tranny fluid is mainly always supposed to be golden brown, like new. Mine was quiet a few shades darker than new, had a medium brown look to it.

https://vimeo.com/131158695 automatic downshift from drive, while cruising at 68...listen for the click/ that's the gas pedal hitting the floor & watch transmission delay a sec before responding (gotta drop from 7th to 3rd while unlocking torque converter) I'm cool with the slight delay: unless yours is doing something totally different- mine has always performed this way since new.

not sure the upside down issue here/maybe operator error

I was having a similar issue where I opened a thread here:
http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...ght-stall.html

For the quick and dirty the Nissan Dealership told me it was pretty much downshifting but I was hitting the throttle to hard (yes, according to them even in automatic you can hit the throttle to hard) and so it hits the rev limit and you get that half a second stall with the sound. He told me in that instance I'm about to accelerate hard and I'm around 60 to pay attention to the rev meter and if looks like its about to limit just ease on the throttle and then go back hard on it if I want, or just be in manual mode, or finally he advised maybe I should just go get a GTR.

hahaha get a GTR..... So was he essentailly saying that when you mash the pedal in D mode the engine can over rev just a bit? My issue happens no where near 7500 redline

Well specifically that if it's in D mode and you're cruising around 60, if you just WOT the car thinks you're passing so it downshifts to make you pass quicker, but I guess it's too much throttle to just step on the gas all the way and hold so you should ease up if all of sudden you see it getting near the redline or you will get that half a second stall. :eekdance:

FPenvy 06-19-2015 02:48 PM

Solution: drive in manual mode. Never had these problems lol

But this time it seemed to almost double rev(?) while it hit 3rd and took off. Like you would hear/see the engine and revs shoot up and then grab the gear and go. I hope that makes sense...but you can hear the engine go "ruumm' *once...then "ruumm" twice and on the second rev is when it took off... anyone heard of this before? has happened a few times already thanks

Sounds like the ASC doing its job.

honestly OP, i really think your car is okay.

the dealership you went to probably quoted you on some outstanding (and unnecessary) jobs.

bro, just drive your Z and relax. it's friday! go take her out for a wash, buy her something nice (perhaps new wheels or a cf hood, etc.), and take her out for dinner (93 octane and preferably with no ethanol).

adaptive shift control - basically there to adjust to the driver's driving style.

If you manually shift; you can his rev limiter @just over 7500, but leaving in D,,,that should not happen// also ; the light is an adjustable shift light... Mines set at 7900 & sometimes flashes @7400,rite before shift.

Car is at dealer as we speak. Issue was duplicated by tech! So far my 12 was behind 3 ecu updates and 2 tcm updates. Didnt help... Lets see what happens....

GZ3 07-07-2015 04:37 PM

UPDATE*****

Pulling the oil pan for metal shaving on the megnetic points... I did let the tech know i recently changed my oil... They are going to goahead and replace the valve body which includes the tcm. If the issue persists, the whole tranny is next

jchammond 07-07-2015 05:29 PM

Ouch, that sux:: They are probably venturing in new territory: I know that I would be.

Yea thats what i was told too.. This tranny is bullet proof at or close to stock power levels. This valve body replacement order came from nissan themselves. Thank god for powertrain warranty

yep; you may want to insist on a new torque converter-that's pretty standard procedure with this being done...keep us posted/ also looking into getting a factory looking trans. temp gauge added to mine...my fluid is very clean now & shifting great.

jchammond 07-07-2015 09:06 PM

2 Attachment(s)
Attachment 105279 Attachment 105280 this is what I flushed and filled mine with.

does your car have an aftermarket trans. cooler? i know that sometimes if small metallic parts go through cooler-you cant flush them all out (at least you really have to work at it) haven't even looked at stock cooler-it may be in radiator.....could get a radiator out of it too....warranty pay's those guy's good!
i'm gonna add one to mine soon/i know Stillen offers one.

GZ3 07-17-2015 01:53 PM

full transmission replacement will happen next week!

the valve body alone did nothing....

Thank God you still under warranty! keep updating & see if they can explain why that one failed.

Its crazy... I knew something was wrong, and it wasnt the typical scenario. But a new transmission and valve is welcomed

Lukcas61 07-17-2015 09:03 PM

Hmmm...does that mean mine is going out as well? Sounds like I'm having an identical issue when cruising at 60 and pushing hard on the gas pedal it would stall for a split second at the rev limit. Have about 22000 miles on the car.

Can you describe it a little better?

Try cruising at 30mph... Mashing the pedal...and if it hangs for more than 2-3 seconds might want to get it checked
