Very interesting. So for someone who isn't well versed on what it would take to rev this motor higher, what else would be involved? Aside from the gears and the backing plate? Would the stock oil pump work efficiently at 8500rpms, or would one be required to purchase something else. I havent done any research on increasing the rev limit because I always thought that the VVEL would fail or something (I read on here a couple of years ago). I understand that I'm asking to be spoon fed here, so if you don't feel like elaborating feel free to tell me to search lol.

As for the rest of the engine, the same applies. I would personally not spin the stock crankshaft much beyond 8000 if you are concerned for reliability based on the accounts of those that have when using dry sumps. I personally feel about the same with the VVEL system for now. Unless we can find anyone who has taken it beyond 8000 very often, I am not sure we have any data to work with. Generally the guys who are spinning the highest have switched to HR heads to my knowledge. |
