Understood. Guess I'll be getting the balancer as a precautionary measure.

Its hard to say. If the gears end up being a popular, in-demand item, more batches would be produced. But they want 15 minimum per batch, and that means I would have to buy the 15 sets to get it started. If they all sold out quickly, it could justify another batch - But I am not sure if it will be a popular on-going type product or not.

The oil pump is behind the timing chain on the crankshaft. Ideally, the engine would be out of the car to perform the installation, although it can probably be done in the car. Installation should be performed by someone with lots of mechanical experience... there is plenty of room to go wrong and cause expensive damage in the procedure.

Phunk, I'm interested in the damper, pump, oil pan and backing plate. Given my situation, how much of a deposit would make it worth your time to hold onto my order until November? The spending freeze gets lifted 10/31, so I'd be sending the remainder 11/1.

Thats a tough one since I dont know yet what the dampers will cost, or if we will get enough people for the oil pump gears and plate!!!

We can work out something though and of course if we just keep it less than the oil pan total, than we wouldnt have to worry about refunding anything if the OPG doesnt come to fruition?

I would prefer to keep it minimal though. I would rather hold onto a part for you than hold onto your money.

Let me know what makes it worth it for you. The interest is definitely there, but the timing is just terrible.

I'd buy in sections so at least put me down. Anything to get the ball rolling on a 6 year old car with pretty limited parts and high dollars for them. O to be like a LS parts crowd haha

Elmo370z 05-29-2015 10:25 PM

Group buy

Elmo370z 05-29-2015 10:31 PM

Along with the ati damper

phunk 05-29-2015 10:49 PM

We have to keep it all separated since timing doesn't exactly line up, and the OPG will require a minimum batch order, etc.

Gotcha, well I'm in. Whenever it is ready to sell. Eventually do you think you will get the ati damper into production or is it based on the crowds interest in the product?

phunk 05-30-2015 12:28 PM

The damper is happening with no influence from me, they were already working on it. I will be sure and send them reminders of our interest in the product to possibly assist in accelerating their progress though.
