Pfitzner Gears don't do oil-pump gears ....

What's the likely hood of a performance gain? My last dyno even with ported Tb's, upper, lower and 2.75" intakes at 7k you can start to see a fall on the red which is 5th gear. I could only imagine it getting worse. The blue 4th gear does seem to be rising though.

PS I'll admit something's not right with my parts. Tunes perfect but with all the custom parts I'm not doing what others do power wise.

The oil pump gears wont help produce power at higher RPM. Although, understand that you do not have to produce as much power in a lower gear to accelerate faster than the next gear up. Even if your HP as started to fall, your car will usually accelerate its quickest to rev the engine as high as you can due to torque multiplication of the transmission. Of course once it has fallen to a certain low, that is no longer true... and for each scenario you have to do the math.

Bmw m5 conrod bolts? Do you suggest getting a new set of oem piston or set of forged? Just trying to understand your setup.

1slow370 05-27-2015 12:41 AM

ARP m5 conrod bolts there is only one that is the same(thisis if using oe rods). Ideally budget allowing you would just get light aftermarket rods (not the heavy turbo rods out now) which would come with there own spec of bolt, and lighter forged pistons. When talking na, the parts you use for a turbo motor are not necessarilly the best choice.

Phunk,

In for oil pump gears and backing plate upgrade. Already in for the pan as per our convos.

Quick ?

The nismo oil pump adverts billet grears and is only considered "safe" upbto around 8k rpms. How will these be better. Besides price, nismo pump os around $1300 so even if theyre equivalent, yours are still far better value.

I think I'm in on this too. my redline is 8200 and from what I read here, I shouldnt have an engine anymore, as I routinely take it to the lomoter, especially when I am running away from Z06s or 911s

DR_ 05-27-2015 01:14 PM

I'm all in on this for sure.

I will dig up more information. I dont believe the NISMO pump changed the backing plate. I also dont know if the NISMO pump has had problems on the HR/VHR like it did with the DE. Everyone that has personally told me about a NISMO pump exploding was running a DE. Supposedly the HR engines have some sort of improved crankshaft design that doesnt experience as much vibration. I will probably have to call JWT about it since they have had their hands in most worthwhile NA VQ builds and have a wealth of information.

CRANK DAMPER UPDATE: ATI Racing replied to me that they will have the OEM Fitment HR/VHR dampers available in about 8 weeks.

So that is great news.

Megan370z 05-27-2015 08:16 PM

I am also interested into this oil pump gear! ;)

ENT-Z 05-27-2015 08:31 PM

Interested!

Phunk,

Honestly man, you should just sell this as a kit, the pan, ati damper, oil pump billet gears/steel backing plate one big package deal.

I am interested for sure. I'd have to figure out some sneaky way to pay for it since I'm supposed to be saving every single dime for my wedding, but some things are just a higher priority.

You can think of this as a "wedding gift". Your future wife will love house appliances while you will love Z "appliances".
Chuck, you are the man!!!!!!
