It can be done any time there are enough people to pre-purchase... but I personally cant justify investing in 15+ sets for myself to only hope they sell.

I understand. Well ill try and push it for you, hopefully we can get some people together

Please count me in for the Billet Gears Oil Pump kit.

I've just replaced my dead clutch CSC recently with the Z1 CSC Elimination kit + new master cylinder. Also added OS Giken Twin Plate clutch while the bell housing was cracked open.

I was looking at the Nismo Oil Pump with steel gears until I came across this thread.

Definitely in!

:)

Think phunk killed this idea.

Well we can bring it back any time.

My concerns are that nobody will buy it due to:

A: Install labor is pretty extensive and includes removing the main timing chain.

B: People will want proven results, which is impossible for this product without years in the field.

Please put me down for this if you do bring it back! I have been thinking about solutions to improve the reliability of my next engine, and anything that improves the oil pump would help.

This will never come back. great idea just like phunk stated above.

What other options do we have for strengthening the oil pump, short of a dry sump? I already have the CJM oil pan. Is the NISMO oil pump worth it? ATI Super Damper?

You forgot to add a billet crank.

Your only option is to keep revs under 7500rpm.

NISMO oil pump is OK but not a universal solution and dry-sump is the best solution.

Hr/vhr billet gears still alive

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you guys know, after talking with Charles, I'll be taking over the torch to get these gears made. This will allow him to continue on other product development and since we already have the DE/Revup gears done, it makes sense.

The drawings should be done in a few weeks and then we can start getting them made. We are using a Nismo pump as our base pump, so we know what to improve and what to leave alone. We do the full pump service, so pump is modified to accommodate the billet gears and we will also attach our billet back plate.

If you're interested let me know and we can start a list. I'll go over more details once the drawings are finished.

Here are some pictures of the DE/Revup gears and pump.

Serializing of all pumps, so I know it cant be mistaken.

Enjoy!

I'm still interested depending on the final price.

Same here.

Final price will depend on how many are sold.

The more sold the lower the price I can do on the first batch. The DE gears run about $550, but I only sale them as a full pump setup at $800. This a full modified pump, not just a stock pump. With the VHR, we will use existing pumps to keep cost down, as the pumps themselves are around $250. If you want a new pump, then that can be done as well. Otherwise, we can modify the existing pump and just put the gears and back plate on.

Tenitively the gears will be around the same as the DE (will work to make these lower, but a good bit will need to be sold), and the back plate around $170.

Jeremiah
