Heater/Coolant/Radiator/Whatever-you-want-to-call-it Hose and Start Up Questiona

Two quick questions:

1. Regarding the top heater hose (the one that connects from the top of the radiator to the engine where the thermostat is located), on the end of the hose that connects to the radiator, I see dried-up coolant residue. I saw the same thing on my 350Z, except on the end where it connects to the engine. Do you guys have this? Is this common?

2. When you guys start you vehicle, do you push the start button and release right away or do you hold down until the engine starts up? I personally push and release right away and have seen others hold until it fully starts

Semi common, not much should be there. If it's more and more, replace the hose.

I release immediately, doesn't matter much though

it's not alot or gushing out or anything like that. it looks like a drop or two seeped out and then dried up.

it is somewhat common, especially with the g37. I just replaced it on the g37. Some mentioned it could be the hose clamp, but I put in a new hose and no more leak. The upper hose is also available from O'reiley.

Dried residue of coolent is what I also noticed when I bought mine. Was told not to worry, coolent level is fine.

Had this same problem on a 2009 G37. Hose in good shape, replaced the OEM hose clamp with a screw type hose clamp. Problem resolved.

Yes and Nissan nor another shop can fix it, apparently.
