Default SES Light Flash

Hey guys,
Ive had the SES light on for some time now (3 weeks). Today I changed the spark plugs and the light turned off. However, after driving the car to a friends house the light began to flash then it turns off. A few street lights later, it starts flashing again then shortly after, turns off. I understand that this is an indication of a misfire being detected. Any ideas on what could be causing these misfires? Could it be an ignition coil issue? Ive attempted a search on this topic but have come up empty. Let me know if you guys have any advice on how to fix this.
Thanks!

Did you use a dedicated spark plug socket to install the plugs? They are extremely easy to break with a regular socket. Take it to autozone to have the code read and hopefully it will tell you which specific cylinder is misfiring and then replace the plug on that cylinder

If it's the SES light, you should be able to reset it from the multi-display. It's just telling you that it's time to change the oil or other periodic maintenance.

I didnt use a dedicated spark plug socket to install the plugs. However, I did use a thin walled 14 deep socket to install them. Now that i think of it, the socket left one of the terminals on the plugs a little dirty with old grease and dirt. It could be that the terminal isnt making full contact with the ignition coil. Hmmm....I ordered an OBD II code reader, Once it comes in Ill take the car for a spin with it plugged in and see what kind of codes its picking up. For now, itll stay parked since its not my daily.

Thanks for the help guys

I dont think we are talking about the same thing here. The Service Engine Soon (SES) light comes up on your rev odo...the other maintenance stuff like oil and oil filter comes up in the multidisplay.

Ah. While it says "Service Engine Soon", Nissan refers to it as the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light). Sorry about the confusion. Use an OBD/CAN scanner to read the DTC(s) present.
