That in the picture is the ballast and the igniter. Should be fine in the I've but if It were me I'd take em off. They're gonna haw to come off anyway. Just a few screws on the ballast (black box on the outside) and on the inside of that is the igniter. I believe there is a small screw on the inside of the ballast and when you unplug you can just unlead the igniter out of the headlight. Basically the ballast transfers the power through the igniter and then to the bulb.
