Doing this to my car as well here are some tips i learned in case you were too:
Firstly.. to avoid confusion the red wire is your hot ( or positive ) and the black should be the negative... therefore the resistor should go on the red wire Secondly.. these bulbs have a positive and negative side: the side with the longer stem is the positive and it is vital they are all in the same direction Thirdly.. there only needs to be 1 resistor in the beginning of the circuit in between the power source and first set of lights on the chain... if you add a resistor to each whip (row of lights) they will get duller as you go further from the source due to the retarding of power through the resistor... lastly.. LEAVE ENOUGH SLACK in order to get the bulbs into the right place.. i just ripped apart my work as i had leaned these 3 tips the hard way.. i will post pics later for those interested? |
