I believe red was one of the colors he said he is gonna do. ;)

theDreamer 08-02-2009 02:14 PM

What shade is the stock one, does it match the rest of the interior lights?

The stock is amber. (I believe that's what you call it)

I think it's sexy tho :)
just like my pink roll cagee

Cjanik 08-03-2009 01:22 AM

I'll see if i can work out finding a pinkish color but chances are NO it wont happen. As of this moment there's probably a 5% probability of me making one (real low, cuz I probalby wont even ever find an LED that is very light red).

anyhow, at this moment, its 11:20pm, im usually in bed by 1030pm, so i'll pull out my digital tomorrow to show the true blood solid red color that the most current kickplates look like. this is what I took with my Iphone. the Iphone is making it very very light red in compairison to how dark it really is. (once again, dark as in solid blood red, not as in "hard to see".)

-edit- deleted iphone pictures, see post below for actual digital pictures.

XwChriswX 08-03-2009 01:26 AM

Looks badass no matter what kind of dark you call it lol. +2 for you.

Cjanik 08-03-2009 01:38 AM

Here are the better red pictures, still a little orange-ish compared to actual blood red that they are but nonetheless much better than the Iphone pictures, heh:

XwChriswX 08-03-2009 01:39 AM

Are you planning on doing any other interior type LED mods?

Cjanik 08-03-2009 01:41 AM

^^ probably not but we'll see.

XwChriswX 08-03-2009 01:43 AM

Hopefully so.. Good skills... should see what all we can do. I know I'd like to see eventually floorboards, and trunk interior for shows also... Wonder how an underbody kit would look on these, or if thats too ricey?

Cjanik 08-03-2009 06:58 PM

im not an underbody kit fan, i like to keep it simple. but some people love it, so its only you who can decide.

XwChriswX 08-03-2009 09:15 PM

I think done distastefully (as with all things) it will look shitty, but if done tastefully, it can add some flair...

Cjanik 08-04-2009 12:19 AM

ok I did a yellow one today, doesnt look as yellow as I hoped.

its more of a orange-yellow. it is much lighter and more obviously yellow color than the stock amber color, but still has an small orange hue in it.

nonthless, I have a set of red and a set of blue ready to be sold, 2theextreme (blue) and Phelan (red) get dibs first, if nothing then i'll put it up for sale.

XwChriswX 08-04-2009 01:00 AM

I'm still gonna stick with the blues myself, when the times right...

Shunya 08-04-2009 08:19 AM

wow the red looks good!
but my idea of pink is super!
if there's pink it's a must! and extra pair for back ups :D

Payment made! Might get lucky and have them installed by Friday! If so, I'll be sure to have some nighttime pics for ya'll. ;)

Cjanik 08-04-2009 11:47 PM

ok, im done with getting all the colors compiled, all of the kick plates in these pictures are for sale.

I also have a red one thats not in very good shape, I accidentally bent the aluminum on the drivers side, and bent it back into shape, but you can see the ripples at certain angles - i'll sell this one for 100 dollars flat. the passengers side is in perfect condition.

I also have 5 untouched kick plates which I can alter to your choice of color, just let me know what color you want. I can also do green, which is not in the pictures - I did not do it because I don't suspect many, if anyone, to want green.

send me a PM if your interested in buying,
The final prices I have decided to sell them at are as follows:
200 dollars SHIPPED.
if you already have kick plates, send me your kick plates and i'll subtract 140 dollars from the 200.

**keep in mind the colors shown in the pictures do not show how deep the colors are - they are much more solid, such as the blue is a very solid strong blue, the red is more of a blood red, and yellow is deeper- i just couldn't capture it with my camera.**

phelan 08-05-2009 11:14 PM

Dibs on red! :D

jookiyaya 08-07-2009 04:45 PM

the blood red looks great, only if it was a little redder on the pearl white. ^_^ is the blue the white led? looks real frosty!

Cjanik 08-07-2009 06:19 PM

the top blue is the dark blue, I have yet to capture its true dark blue color - it looks so darn light blue in the pictures but oh well, maybe 2theextreme will post pictures with the correct hue of blue when he installs them!.

the white is the bottom of the bunch, it actually is a little frosty looking, I see it as more of a very light grey color. I think it would look so good on a silver/PG car.

jookiyaya 08-07-2009 09:32 PM

i gotta say cjanik... thats still sick! yeah i agree, the frosty white would look real clean on a silver/pg z. but as for me, ive been so partial to championship white and the classic red honda emblem for the itr, the blood red is for me lol. i cant wait until i get my z in sept.. sheesh ^_^

Shunya 08-08-2009 03:41 AM

frosty looking eh? then Frosty is gunna need a pair

Shunya 08-11-2009 02:21 AM

bigaudiofanat 08-11-2009 10:11 AM

Now I have a question. Why couldn't you just put on one side or the other of the clear z logo a led shining onto the Z logo? It would not bee seen and probably would be brighter as well.

Cjanik 08-11-2009 02:10 PM

What are you refering to?

-edit- are u refering to the pictures in the original diy post? If so i did not do that becase i did not have right angle smd leds at the time. The kick plates im making up are all right angle leds and face the logo. they are not brighteR though because the inside of the logo is all chrome and the light bounces all around.

XwChriswX 08-11-2009 03:15 PM

Just FMI, do you order LEDs and wire and do the wiring yourself? Because I know of a GREAT site to order pre-wired LEDs of the 3mm and 5mm variety very cheap and super fast shipping... Just trying to help you with cost/labor. Unless your REALLY into that sort of thing lol.

Cjanik 08-11-2009 06:28 PM

I dont re-wire anything, I use the existing board that comes with the Illuminated kick plates. Also, The LED's on these are 1mm x half a mm

Thanks for the Idea though! :)

Shunya 08-12-2009 06:50 AM

shush all, the pink ones are pwnage :P

Spec Jay 08-18-2009 01:07 AM

think imma try it. never really done circuit board soldering but done regular soldering.
its pretty much make sure the solder gets only hot enough to remove the led and then create a good contact when remelting it right?
0603 SMD LED - Sapphire Blue UT-692NB
that the one you use for the blues?

Cjanik 08-18-2009 06:31 PM

actually use this site and their LED's. they are cheaper and easier to deal with.

Kingbright USA, an opto-electronic LED manufacturer products include all type of LED LAMPS , SMT LED, SMD LED, LED DISPLAYS optoelectronic components

here's the blue one you'll want:
http://www.kingbrightusa.com/product...06PBC/Z-PRV-SI

and yes your correct, its the same except you'll need small needlenose pliers to work with the led's, and dont overheat them as you stated. I believe I have my soldering Iron at 750degrees.
