DIY: Illuminated Kick Plates

I installed a set today and the driver side front clip doesn't clip, it slides in and out of the hole. I resorted to putting a piece of gorilla tape

I resorted to putting a piece of gorilla tape on the end to keep it down. Any better suggestions?
