Default DIY: How to revive suction cups for radar detector

So my V1's suction cups became flat after some use in cold weather. it could no longer suction air to support the bracket and detector on the glass.

You can order replacements for a $1 (4pcs) at the valentine one site or...

DO AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Step1: Remove suction cups from the bracket.

Step2: Get a cooking pot, fill tap water about 3" deep, heat up till water boils.

Step3: Drop the 2 suction cups into the boiling water for 10min.
- by 10min your cups will turn into a creamy-white color.

Step4: Shut off stove, pour cold water into the pot to cool.

Step5: Dry suction cups with towel and let it sit for a few hours until it is clear again.

Done!

Re-use the old one, save some plastic, save some waiting time, and save money.
