I've tried "compressing the sides", and it's not budging. If I squeeze anymore, it's gonna make like a zit and plastic pieces are gonna fly all over the place.

Anyone have trouble pulling the old ignition out?
Compress the tabs on the switch but do both of them at the same time and push towards you. in the pic you can see one of the tabs but theres another one on the opposite side.

Here's the close up of one of them.

Silly me, I was trying to pull backwards out of the housing instead of forward. I didn't notice that detail in the pic, but if it were a snake, It would have bitten me!

Ugh, turned a 5 min DIY to a 45 min DIY.

Looks fantastic!

I also noticed in your pics you removed the knee rests, but I didn't see it typed out anywhere. Am I missing it? Because it didn't seem possible for me to do this without taking those off, which also required taking out 2 more screws.

I ordered mine last Tuesday and got it today from Courtesy Parts. They said it was on backorder, but it shipped 2 days after the order. Installation/pics this weekend!

Too ricey. Shoulda left it silver, or atleast waited till a carbon fiber piece comes out. The paint on the gtr button is so nice you kinda ruin it with a basic red paint on the ring there. Just my honest opinion.

Yeah I know what you mean but I'm going to add more red to the inside of the car like red z carpets later on.

I cannot enable SRM anymore and I'm thinking something may have came loose during the installation of this button. I haven't had time to open it up yet (would have been late for work). Is that possible?

Solved my own issue. Took a closer look at the trim piece, and noticed when I replaced it, it was putting a tiny bit of pressure on the SRM button. I took the trim piece and put it back on and it has to be perfect in order to not put pressure on either the SRM or hazard lights.

If there's pressure on the hazard lights, your lights stay on. If there's pressure on the SRM button, SRM is disabled.

Just FYI!
