Anyone online that's done this installation? I've finally got everything taken apart (different than the OP, to my surprise) but the OEM ignition assembly isn't pulling out of the housing. I've tried "compressing the sides", and it's not budging. If I squeeze anymore, it's gonna make like a zit and plastic pieces are gonna fly all over the place.

Anyone have trouble pulling the old ignition out?

Compress the tabs on the switch but do both of them at the same time and push towards you. in the pic you can see one of the tabs but theres another one on the opposite side.

Here's the close up of one of them.

Silly me, I was trying to pull backwards out of the housing instead of forward. I didn't notice that detail in the pic, but if it were a snake, It would have bitten me!

Ugh, turned a 5 min DIY to a 45 min DIY.

Looks fantastic!

I also noticed in your pics you removed the knee rests, but I didn't see it typed out anywhere. Am I missing it? Because it didn't seem possible for me to do this without taking those off, which also required taking out 2 more screws.
