When I did mine I heated them up with a hair dryer to weaken the sticky tape that glues them on. Then I used some dental floss (fishing line is just as good but potentially more damaging to the surrounding paint) to slice through the glue and pulled them off.

When you do it, be very careful of the surrounding paint and don't be tempted to lever one side up too much as the opposite end will dig into your paintwork.

There are a couple of plastic locating lugs and I actually sawed through some with my floss. Here are a couple of pics that will help.

Take it slow and you'll be fine

I used the same method and it worked out perfectly!
