There is no way you can change the cabin filter from underneath the car. I don't know what Jiffy Lube is doing but they're not changing your cabin filter (if this is a 370z).

I installed the Purolator C35479 filter today. It took me a bit more than 10 mins since I was afraid of breaking something but putting everything back was much faster. Thanks for the DIY and + rep all around. :icon17:

I did this with a fram filter from Amazon, around $13 bucks. Install wasnt hard, but certainly wasnt simple as none of the parts look like they want to come off. Thank you for the instructions!

Thank you for the DIY on this. I did mine the other weekend and it went well... except I too broke the tab on the door, and had to use the penny trick to close it.
Does anyone know the part number for that plastic cabin air filter door? I searched around on Courtesy Parts, and was not able to find that specific part. Any help would be appreciated. The broken door is nagging the back of my mind..... |
I am pretty sure the 2010 Z comes with the filter already installed. NO one has answered why the 2009 didnt?

in for updates

i have to say this mod is EXCELLENT for spring time... ive been having these allergies with itchy eyes and stuff in some areas where i drive on the weekends and as soon as i close the window and run the a/c no more discomfort!
it's a night/day difference. :) |
Thanks for the DIY. I used the Purolator C35479 today, paid about 20-25 bucks for it from Advanced Auto Parts. 15 minute DIY - only because I had to check the thread for the air flow direction :) Perfect fit, and hopefully it will stop the smells I was starting to detect from the AC.

If I understand this DIY correctly, the car has the slot for the cabin air filter but it does not come with it installed from the factory? Thanks for the clarification.
