Removing glove box

After removing all seven screws, how much force is required to remove the glove box? I'm having trouble getting my glove box out.

Make sure you are pulling at the right angle. It requires a bit of force but not too much. I know that's not terribly helpful. I'm always worried that I'm going to break something, too. But at the right angle it should just pop out without too much effort.

Thanks for the reply! I am completely worried about breaking it and it does help.

kinda like tugging at a 5yr old to take away his teddy bear kind of tug.

not the kind of tugging u'd do like at a fat middle aged woman taking away her big jar of cookies she's getting ready to pay at check-out. :ugh:

Man this thing is killing me. Pulling up on the door at the corners...tried pushing up from the bottom of the door. Pulling up from different angles using the corners of the glove box door as indicated with red circles. Pulling up from the corners with the door open a little, about half way, all the way... Thing won't budge. I have definitely removed all 7 screws. Eventually i will get sick of it enough to break at which point I don't doubt it will come out. I'm just still in the "trying not to break it" phase.

TreeSemdyZee 10-26-2015 04:33 PM

After you've gotten out all of the screws, pull straight back. Give it a quick yank.
Make sure you're pulling straight back. If you just try to "pull" it back, you're going to struggle. Quick yank and the pain will go away. (No comment Kenchan!!!)

eddix 10-26-2015 04:40 PM

Ok. I will try straight back. Thanks!

Any luck?

It's been raining here so I havn't tried yet. Will today tho. The Z is my daily driver and I just left the glove box screws out until I get the box out and replace the filter. Glove box operates normally with all the screws removed which is weird.

Hopefully you could test it soon... We are anxious to know its result and performance. Keep us updated.

Akinari 10-28-2015 09:25 PM

As everyone said here, pull while holding the spots circled in red.

Just give it a quick tug, the faster you do it the better. ( It took me like 10 mins of gently tugging at it before I gave up and gave it a quick yank .. )
