Default DIY: Chassis Mount Wing Install

Hey guys, I recently bought a chassis mount Battle Aero wing and decided to install it myself. Luckily there was a video already posted to explain the install, it was quite simple, the only thing the video didn't show was how to make the correct cuts in the bumper for the wing stands to come through. I'll provide the link to the video below and talk about my process under the video.

The first thing you have to do is determine how much you need to cut, you can't just measure the mounts because when the stands are installed they will require cuts in the bumper as well. After measuring the correct height I used a piece of cardboard to tape to the crash bar so I know where the top of the cut will be made.

I then spent $1 on a laser pointer from Dollar Tree and slid an 11mm socket over the pointer to hold down the on button in which I taped the pointer to a ladder so I could pin point it on the top of my cardboard piece.

After that is finished and you have the height of your cut measured you can remove the rear crash bar replacement and install your bumper where you'll find the exact point in which you can start cutting.

I used a piece of tape to mark a straight line so I could easily make adjustments then used a marker to draw my desired cut line.

After that was finished I drilled 4 holes total, two on each side, one at the top of the line and one at the bottom to give you rounded edges. Then you can use whatever desired cutting tool to cut a straight line to complete the cuts.

Use some sandpaper or a rounded file to smooth the edges and you should be good after that!
