I have three terminal banks installed behind my drivers side kick panel by the fuse box.
One is fed from an add-a-circuit (like you used for your V1) to get continuous 12V. The second is fed from an add-a-circuit to get switched 12V (12V when the car is on) The third is grounded to a bolt by the fuse box. This way I can easily add accessories on their own circuit and they all share a common grounding point. For the ALP specifically... I happen to be installing my own very soon .... the manual states the control box should be powered with SWTICHED power. So find one of the switched power circuits in the fuse box, and use another add-a-circuit. Yes, you can.
