I am not a expert on Meguiars but its still a wax from what i seen. so far as i know its still going to melt off a black car and wash off with in a week. If i am wrong please any one feel free to correct me.

Zaino on the otherhand will last up to 6 months but i think you will see 3 months with ease. It wont melt off either.

Personally, I used menzerna 85D polish then layered a few coats of blackfire wet diamond as a sealant, and topped it off with pinnacle souveran.

omg! i made a post instead of lurking!

This is true it doesn't last long. The Meguiars NTX wax lasts about three months at best under the elements. I can always tell because the paint will lose that silky feel. And of course the water stops beading. I had considered the pro waxes and polishes (Zaino and others). For me, I'm not going to spend that kind of time just to eek out a little more shine.

I'm a believer in Zaino. I used it with very good results starting with a new 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe and just did the full treatment to my new 370Z. I got some bird crap on the car before I applied the Zaino and it stained the clear coat requiring a little rubbing with polish to remove. I did the Dawn dish soap wash to remove whatever wax (if any) the dealer had applied, clay bar on the paint, and then 2 coats of Zaino Z2 with the ZFX flash accellerant. The following week I washed the car with Meguiars Gold car wash, and applied 2 more coats of the Z2/ZFX mix. I also tried the new Z8 Detailer Spray as the final step and it seems to have a better anti-static property than the Z6 as I had less dust build up at the end of the week. Yes, Zaino is very labor intensive, I spent an entire day doing the first application and another afternoon applying two more coats but the results were worth it. I've been getting lots of compliments about the car and how shiny and clean it looks. A tip for you guys: Get a small (about 4" tall or so) pump spray bottle product from the travel size or sample section of your local drug store that you can dump the contents out of. Clean well to make sure it has no more hair spray or whatever inside, fill it with your favorite QD product and put it in a small zip lock baggie in case it leaks. Mine fits in the storage bin behind the passenger seat and I keep a small microfiber towel in the car as well. It really comes in handy if you find a fresh bird bomb on your paint baking in the sun.

I agree! 16 dollars for an "8 ounce" bottle of Zaino, no way! I'll stick with Meguiars, I'm happy and very satisfied with!

Yes Zaino is very expensive. The car wash liquid should be in a bigger bottle. I found it did a pretty good job though. I haven't used it on my Z yet but on my other car for a trial run. I brought one of the Zaino kits and also a bottle of the tire cleaner stuff, and a few microfiber cloths. The dealer wanted to sell me their car protection stuff but I thought it was a rip-off. At the end of the day I think the owner of the car would do a better job because they care a lot more about it. One thing I didn't like about zaino is that it was still in ounces measurements (fine if you live in US but Australia doesn't use ounces).

Should I claybar my Z? I'm wondering if it's necessary considering it's near brand new. I'm just scared of scratching the paintwork with it. I'm thinking it might do more harm than good.

Meguiar's Direct NXT Generation® Tech Wax® 2.0
Tech Wax 2.0 $17.99

Z-2 $14.95
ZFX Flash Cure Accelerator Additive $19.95
then add sh.

It actually cost alot more than what you implied.

If you want to layer your car to make it look very wet i think zaino is the way to go. Or if you just want longer protection then its also the way to go.

It defenitly can add up in cost. I think its worth it though. I love how deep my car shines.
