I don't know anything about Claymagic, sorry.
I'm kind of a Meguiar's guy myself, so I use their claybar. Of course, it recommends using MQD as the lube. The first time I claybarred a car, I used MQD as recommended. Worked great, but yeah, kind of expensive. I wish you could buy a 55 gallon drum of MQD at a big discount. Love that stuff, use it all the time, just a little pricey for something like a claybar lube.
Next time, I just used a fresh bucket of soapy water. Also worked great. No real difference in terms of convenience or results, so I just use that. Much cheaper.
Curious to hear what others' recommend....
