No way a detailer would advise water-only. Maybe you misunderstood him if he suggested a rinse-less wash?

Use a good soap, with a wash and rinse bucket. And make sure they have grit guards in them and your paint will be looking good for a while. If you have a dark color I recommend picking up a foam gun to help lift the dirt off before you even start washing. Oh and 2 wash mits one for top one for bottom.

Don't bother using the bucket method. Just drop your washcloth on the driveway and spray it clean before washing each panel. It'll be fine! :ugh2:

I can understand him saying no more "soap" a good car shampoo should be used not what you use to wash dishes but the just water part is stupid, the whole idea of using a shampoo is that to cushion taking dirt off the car and avoiding scratches etc
