I just ordered the Adam's polish kit with the Porter Cable. Heard only good things so I'm giving it a shot. I tried using the "The Black Box" from Turtle Wax about 5 weeks ago and it seems to be holding up ok. Some of the swirls are still visible though. Thats why I'm going with the Adam's Polishes.

Also, make sure you remove bird droppings right away. It will bubble up the clearcoat faster than you think.

#1.. Watch ALL of the junkman's videos on how to clean your car. He uses Adam's products mostly, but even he says it's mostly the technique of cleaning the car that puts all those scratches and swirls on the car. I'm still learning myself, and it's maing me OCD about the car now! ARG!

yea watch his videos, they're great.

in short, keeping a black car, or any car looking good is more about proper washing technique than washing often. most of the paint damage occurs from poor washing technique

1. get two, 5 gallon buckets, and two grit guards
2. get 2 or 3 microfiber waffle weave drying towels and some other regular microfibers.
3. get at least 2 real sheepskin wash mits, one for the top 3/4 of the car, and the other for the lower portion that gets the big particles (lower portion of doors, rocker panels, low on the front/rear bumpers.
4. some detail spray for use while drying the car off.

thers more, but thats all you need as far as keeping the black paint in good condition during regular washes, the rest is technique. for that watch the junkman's videos.
