I never take my Z thru a carwash. I wash it by hand all the time. Mine is a DD so I usually check the weather and if its sunny 3+ days in a row, I'll wash it.

yep, also check out the waterless washes. i use the griot's one and it is VERY GOOD.

i wash my dd in the spring once to wash off salt.. rest of the summer i just use that these days. no hose needed.

There are cleaning waxes out there that contain grit and/or chemicals but a "real" wax doesn't have any abrasives.
