The flex is unique in that it's a direct drive like a rotary but still has random orbiting heads. In that sense its performance should be close to onpar with a rotary buffer. Not all DAs are like that, though. Also, making it direct drive also makes it less user friendly; that is to say, you're more likely to damage your paint if you don't know what you're doing. You should consider the flex as a step between a DA and a true rotary buffer.

For anyone who is new to the game! The PC7424XP is the way to go hands down.

Price point and finish!

Upgrade once you get the hang of it. Really the only thing your going to see is a decrease in correction time.
