Default GTA Z OWNERS question regarding maintenance checks !

i bought my Z new and i guess in order for the dealership to keep my warranty intact i have to do the maintenance checks every 3-6 or so months. what exactly do they do at these maintenance checks, how long does it take, and how much does it cost?

im crazy about how clean i keep my car inside and out and most importantly keep it running like a million bucks. but i dont want anyone, ESPECIALLY the mechanics sitting in my car or touching the hood or anything else with there greasy, smelly, dirty hands, they may check the oils and other things and have it spill everywhere under the hood, even a drop and ill freak out on them. lets not even talk about them sitting in the seat and touching the steering wheel. can these checks be avoided? can they NOT touch the car? or atleast have me stand there the whole time to keep an eye out.

especially when the MOTHER FKR salesman showed me my car the first day when i picked it up and he opened the passenger side door and hit the Z next to mine. WTF. i was too excited about getting my car, and i was shell shocked like an idiot and didnt say anything, even though there was no damage, but still, thats fkd up big time, b.c it made me think what else happened to my car before i came to pick it up.

well if anyones still reading my essay, sorry for it being long, can anyone tell me about there experience with the maintenance checks

if you go into the dealership shop area in the back, there's usually a list of maintenance costs on the wall behind the desk. as for being dirty, there's not much you can do.

as for keeping it clean, you could put those cardboard/paper mats down in the footwells etc. (assuming they don't do it for you)

im sure some you GTA guys have done maintenance checks, no? just wondering, im sure it will, but have to ask, if it will void the warranty if i dont go. there shouldnt be any problems with a brand new car, especially when kept in great condition

haha unless you are willing to do all the checks and stuff yourself. you are pretty much out of luck. Most places wont let you drive the car in and out of the garage yourself. They would probbaly let you watch what they are doing, but you cant avoid them touching things. I usually go to Active Green and Ross, they tend to put these plastic bag like sheets on teh seats when they sit in the car to drive it in and out of the garage, they tend to do clean work too. As far as i am aware going to another shop not a nissan dealer and doing the checks and oil changes doesnt void the waranty, as long as you have proof that a certified mechanic has done the work( a.k.a. have your receipt ). The problem with not doing the check in a shop and doing them yourself is not being able to prove that they are done. which may void the waranty. But then again its a new car you probably wont have any problems with it untill the waranty runs out. So just go let them do the checks and suck up the dirty mechanics sitting and touching your car.

i cant man, i ALWAYS clean my car before every car ride. they smell and have grease on them, my car still smells like new, so no way. especially not after the jacka** salesman that banged my door when i picked it up. ill probably have to put plastic everywhere and ask them what exactly they will check, how long, how much and so forth

dealership I use puts a paper mat on the floor mats and a plastic sheet that covers my drivers seat couldn't ask for much more then that. Not to mention the shop there is relatively clean, and so are the employees and their uniforms. I don't think hey don't do a lot of dirty jobs though all dealer and service work..... now go to a joe blow shop like a buddy of mine works at and that is a dirty shop! I will not take my Z there! no matter how much they cover it there I know it would get oil/dirt/grease some where they are covered in the crap

side question. is there a way i can rent or otherwise have access to a lift?
i want to do most if not all of the work on my car and while jackstands are fine for most cases i figured id ask if it was somehow possible.

i want to install the exhaust on my own. not really a money issue (though of course id rather keep it reasonable) but i really enjoy working on the car myself. yes it can be dirty and hot and mosquito-y but cotdaymn itd rather do that than spend time with people sometimes.

for exhaust install i managed to do it with 2 ramps (canadaian tire $50), 2 mechanical jacks (1 that comes with the car and another i had, more secure than the hydrolic ones but abit more work), 2 stands. Its not the most comfortable environment to work with especially when you get to the front part. Biggest problem is being able to get leverage on some of the bolts. With abit more than a foot of clearance under the car, you will need to get creative. I used long pipes slid over the ratched handle acting as a 1.5m long breaker bar. If i had a choice i would find a place that either has a canal on the floor so i dont have to jack the car up at all. Or if i knew some one with a shop that would let me use the full car jack for a day.

i cant do the checks, im not inclined, as well if something ever for whatever reasons happens to the expensive parts like the engine, etc. then they will void the warranty
