What kind of service are you looking at?? Oil change only or Schedule Maintenance ??

Z11 10-25-2012 06:14 PM

Its for the first one. They said come back at 6 months or 6K. So 6 months came first and they said its just for oil change and fluid top ups. Have you alcheng bought your car new and have you serviced it? I'm reading all these reviews whwre they try to find sh1t wrong with your car or they mess your car and charge you a ton $. So I'm paranoid. And when I went to pick up my brand new car, the stupid salesman opened my door and hit the Z next to mine. So I don't wqnt my car out of sight

alcheng 10-25-2012 06:20 PM

I just ask them to change the oil.

One time they ask me to do the 12k service and I deny it, I read the service manual and I found many of those stuff doesn't need to be check at such a low mileage, so I ask them not to do it.

If you are going to have oil change, no matter dealer or private, I strongly suggest you use synthetic oil, it does make a difference.

LMBmikeZ 10-25-2012 09:43 PM

:iagree: synthetic does make a difference. High quality products are always a must IMO. You can also request that you get to watch the service being done if you think they will F*** with your Z. I do I never let them take that thing out of my sight! some dealerships might try to give you some lame excuse like mine did at first but now they don't even bother they know I will be there watching and they are fine with it. All I said is "if you want my business, then I'm watching the service. If this cant be done then I'm not getting anything from you guys." GL and just stand your ground. If it comes down to it you may need to go elsewhere.

alcheng 10-25-2012 11:17 PM

I always keep a good relationship with them, even they suggest some service to me that I don't think it's necessary I will say 'no' in a very friendly.

Especially right now the Z is still under warranty, there's lots of chances I will have to bring the Z back to them for service.

Have to let them realize you know what's going on and you know what you need.

So far the dealer I go to is pretty good service and attitude wise, so I am happy with them so far.

Ire 10-26-2012 12:04 AM

the dealership is not afraid to mention they charge top dollar for everything they do. doesn't mean they are the best unfortunately. just do the oil change yourself ;)

I know basit gets his car handled by Nissan. and if you're close to north York maybe check out the one alcheng goes to. good luck finding a place you like, maybe eventually ill bring my car into Nissan for once :P

btw ertefa was amazing tonight chilled with the S2000 crew. they were down for a S/Z cruise in the spring :D

alcheng 10-26-2012 12:10 AM

I passed by there at around 11:25, most of the people were left already....

Sounds like the forks of the credit to me  we have had a cruise through there before it is an awesome road!

MrSir 10-27-2012 02:15 PM

speaking of a spring cruise, a couple of months ago i had to go to bracebridge (muskoka) an im thinking we do a full day event in the sprint. lots of nice scenic roads in muskoka. I'll map out a route for us and maybe refine it more over the winter months if people are up for acutally doing this. It is a 2-3 drive to get to the start location but its well worth it. Just out of curiosity how many people would actually be up for a cruise like that.

Sounds nice, but we gotta find out the total time it's gonna cost, because that will be 2.5 hr to go there, cruise takes about 1.5 hr, then 2.5 hr to drive back. that's about 6.5 hrs driving.

I found some nice route up north too, prolly about 1.5 hr drive from Toronto.

Also, I mod the Guelph Line route too, and also the Orangeville route, I'll try to post it up here too.

I'm up to meeting with you guys next year for cruises. I've been thinking about the track rental and cruises and I prefer a Saturday or Sunday morning. Just figuring in my drive home. Also I like all parts of the Guelph line cruise except the on are with the very tall hill with the stop sign at the top. Hard to controll the car from rolling backwards on such a steep hill with a stick. I guess I could work on using the parking brake to help hold but my car really doesn't like the hill stop in agressive settings.

I remember that stop sign... I was the 2nd after you and we waited for almost 2 mins there.... lol

Morning is fine as long as people can wake up early... :icon18:

My car has a hill assist but it wouldn't engage in the higher sport settings I had it in. I was afraid that I was going to roll back into the guy behind me. Maybe we could approach it slower and give each other more room to avoid any problems there. :ugh2:

I'd never jack stand it, bad to let your suspension just hang there all winter IMHO. The only reason you'd ever jack it is if you are worried about flat spots on the tires. With today's tires, that's a thing of the past.

Having said that, I jack mine and put 4 rubber mats under each tire. I bought them at COSTCO (the Goodyear garage floor mats), and just cut them to size. Then I put her back down on the mats. The weight of the car then shapes the rubber mats to the tires. Cheap trick!

But, it really isn't required.
