Brutal, I've bought two 370Z's already. The Cdn base model that sells for MSRP $40,898.00 is a touring model with Bose, leather, limited slip differential. There is no other lesser base model available in Canada.

Anyone else in here from Ontario or elsewhere seen an American type 'base' model in the showrooms? It would be nice to see a base model that would sell up here for what, $36K maybe?

True. I wasn't even aware that the US base model didn't even come with Bose, and lsd. My bad.

Aint that the truth? I'll guess from the OP's original enthusiasm that he also showed that enthusiasm to the dealer in the showroom. That in itself makes "dcikering" very difficult. The disinterested buyer who says right out of the gate "I'm in no hurry, I can wait, there will be plenty more where that came from" is the buyer who usually gets the best deal.

To answer OP's question - I got mine from Willowdale Nissan at yonge/steeles. DONT EVEN GO CLOSE TO THAT DEALERSHIP!!

Yeah, we luck out up here because we get the LSD on our touring model but the US guys need to buy the sport package option. But we have to pay for the touring model with no base available. Like someone else said, we are more willing to pay for the extra features here in Canada - the dealers have us by the balls and either you pay or you don't buy the car.

The LSD does not come stock on the Canadian base model. Only with the sports package.

:shakes head: Canada doesn't have a 'base' model like the US. Our base model is the touring model and it has a LSD. Gee, don't you know what you're buying?

Village Nissan... I think a couple 350Z guys go there for service... Have yet to see any complaints yet, but not sure if they changed anything since they recently moved.

Waiting to hear on those ART pipes!

I went to Village Nissan once since it moved down to Kennedy, inquired about the GTR but they are not authorized GTR retailers yet they said in a few months or so. Customer service seemed ok.

The ART pipes are pretty sweet, like sound wise it doesn't make too much of a difference when attached to stock. Ah I don't want to hijack this thread i'll start a new one in Canada section.

.

I thought the opposite was correct. I thought dealers are more willing to bargain if you finance because they can still make some money from the financing.

My car was the owner of the Nissan dealership's DD and a 'Demo' with 4000km on it, even tho the car was mint with no scratches or chips, I told the dealer I felt it was fair that he lower the price by $4000, and he agreed.

I got the Sports/Touring for 41k + taxes and feel I did pretty well.

Basically you are buying a used car, but will still be paying new car taxes.
Also do you think that 8000km was nice and easy and the break-in period was respected? I doubt it.

Honestly I think the price they are asking for the Nismo with that mileage is crazy.

I would tell them to take 8000km = -$8000 off the MSRP. If that's 51k, I would tell them 43k, that sounds more realistic.

Be smart here, it's very simple, if you become attached and decide you 'have' to have it, you're fvcked and will get a bad deal.

Oh and no matter what you buy it for, tell them to repaint the front bumper and clear-bra the front end. You will thank me later.

Never been my experience. I've always gone in with knowledge of invoice and always scored pretty close to that on cash deals. Only bought a car once with dealership financing and paid too much.

I'm sure cash gets the best deals.
