Winter tires are required not just for snow and ice, but also for cold temperatures. An all season - or summer tire (as the Z's have) will start to go hard and loose its grip at 5 to 7 degrees celcius(roughly 45 degrees F for our US Friends. Our tires are fresh and sticky so you will likely not notice this in the Fall or early Spring temps but I would not want to think of driving a Z through the Winter with out proper tires. Then again I hide mine 370Z away at the end of November and get her out in April.
