Congrats on the new car ! As per the guys/gals above re clear bra , I also had the A pillars done also. FWIW, when the dealer does the prep & peels off those white shipping sheets, they may (probably) leave a residue from the adhesive used to install them. Nothing serious though , but soap & water won't remove it.I washed my car a few times & when I was drying it off (with my leafblower) I could see dull vertical lines or narrow stripes depending on the angle you were looking at it . Soap wouldn't take it off so I just happened to have a container of silicone/wax remover handy from use on previous cars. Wiped it down with that & rewashed the car. I can still occasionally see a couple of places I may have missed. That pic you posted is a good reference starting point.Enjoy the ride !!

Go with the washing instructions others have given you here, then apply the clear bra as you see fit (good, fenders, bumper etc).

Also, pump shell 91 gas, it's ethanol free (no I don't work for Shell). What else can I tell you? Oh, always "obey" the speed limit

2nd time around w another 370z.

Just got her today. 2010 w 98k miles and in great shape from having prepurchase inspection at Nissan dealer.

Couple quick as:
1- Bumper has some deep old bug marks, can that be buffed out or just needs repainting?

2- Looking for a set of 19” rays tires and wheels

Sorry to hijack thread but figure Austin thread best to get local help.

Tia,

Ian B

Hi and thanks,!

I have a really great sales guy - he's been following the car all the way from the boat to the transport to the delivery truck. As soon as it showed up he took the keys and parked it until I came to see her. Wouldn't even let the PDI guy touch it in case there was any plastic shipping materials I wanted left on or saved. Knew I wanted to phot everything.

So yes, I'll have her for about 10 days before she gets dropped off for bra, paint correction and ceramic coating. $$ well spent as I keep my cars 10 years and figure it might save me from a repainted down the road.... Maybe silly but just me.

I had 3 Z owners do that within an hour or so the other day. One guy in a red roadster was busy lighting a smoke as we met at a light.Another young lady in what appeared to be a fairly new white roadster was too busy texting on her phone. Is at beside one guy in a silver roadster with the top down & he didn't even as much as look over to say hi. I do get a lot of thumbs up from non Z owners & pedestrians. I have had a few that did wave though.

I know what you mean. I'm not one for segregation, I love the entire automobile community, it's a passion that unites us all, irrespective of religion or ethnicity. However, I think some car owners are either shy or just don't care about the whole "community" thing.

I'll be at a red light and people will roll their windows down asking how much horsepower I have or they are just happy to give a nice compliment. It's always nice to connect, the world is already negative as it is, a little light goes a long way.

I still wave at Vettes because I had four over a 17 year period & the greater percentage always waved. As with any marque, there will be a few that don't understand it or the new friendships that can be made. I usually wave/give a thumbs up to any nice car, custom, hotrod, cruiser, muscle car, etc. That means they usually took the time to build/repair or restore their ride. I go to local car shows & cruise ins & it's usually a car family affair. I'm not big into owners who belittle another makes/marques because they think their ride is superior to everyone else's. I've owned American, German, British, Japanese cars over the years & enjoyed them all.

Makes complete sense.

Can I ask how much of the car did you get covered? I would love to do the entire car, but out of my budget...

Sorry for late reply lol I just did the front bumper. In retrospect I should have done the hood to, now seeing fb chips lol
