Maybe I'm missing something here. I have never, repeat never had to "move" a car or jack it off the wheels to store it for winter. Our winters are long in Canada and in 25 years of storing vehicles through the winter, I have never had "problems" or "issues" with tires or wheels after storage. I'm not sure where you guys are getting this from (?).... it's really the first time I've heard of anything like this. Is it that I've always stored them in a heated garage?
Confused... |
i'm not sure if we'll have problems with flat spotting. Low profile tires have stiffer sidewalls. I've stored a couple cars in the past without moving it, never had a problem... as long as the tire kept air.

Well I am now in the club of parked till snow ment

The exact opposite applies down here, dude! The blazing sun kills the glossy finish on the paint job. I live in a condo', so my '04.5 Touring Coupe hardly ever sees a shade. The only advantage to the Caribbean's weather is that I can ride her 365 days a year. Greetings from Puerto Rico, guys!

damn I wish lucky you
Greetings from the soon to be white Canada |

Man I feel your guys pain. We are still in the mid to upper 80's here. Oh wait, I guess I don't feel your pain. All I feel is the warm sun beating down on my skin. :rofl2:
Still... I haven't picked up my Z yet so really you have it better than I do. I'd rather have snow outside and a Z in my garage than sunny weather without a Z. But soon I will have both! |

Well it was never my intention to store my Z for the winter. But i leave friday for a 1 month field ex. and then i got pretty much all of December off and then off to the Olympics from Jan 14ish to March 26th. So my Z will be going in storage and holy ****...i called my insurence company...before i say what im paying for a premium please dont start all this bs about "omg you are getting raped" I'm 23 years old, 2 accidents, 2 speeding tickets (one ticket was 10 over the limit the other was 40 over) and of course i own the Z and only been driving for 2-3 years...so not a really good record.
Anyways im currently paying $5300 a year for full coverage. Talked to my insurence company to see if i could drop it down to PLPD...didnt want parking insurence because i might have to drive it during the X-MAS break we get. So after going through Bank of Nova Scotia to get there permission to drop the insurence it dropped from 5300 a year to 1300 a year....$4000 dropped...god damn!. I was thinking about doing some mods but im just going to leave it. Doing some work to my ZX6R and might possibly get a turbo system fab'ed up. |
